But sadly, even after 72 years of independence Some young people have to give their lives in the silent question of irrationality and administration, and by showing false excuses of 'family honour' or 'honour killing'.They no longer have a way of life in the institution called marriage.

A few days ago, such a tragic news made us all sad and restless at the same time. I think the place and time of the incident is unnecessary in this article. But one thing I can't share with you is that where exactly are we going? Doesn't such an incident make us bow our heads at a time when we are moving forward in equal pace with the countries? Can't two adult souls choose a mate as their own? Even if they are different religions.Can human religion be a barrier for the tie of two souls?There is no such barrier in the constitution of our country.All religions teach to respect other religions, then why this conflict? হ্যাঁ ঠিকই ধরেছেন ছবিটা শুভ বিবাহের।এই বিবাহ বিষয়টি আসলে একটি প্রতিষ্ঠান বলা যেতে পারে যেখানে উপযুক্ত দুটি  ছেলে-মেয়ে নিজেদের সঙ্গী নির্বাচন করে ও আগামীদিনে পরস্পর সুখ ও দুঃখে একসঙ্গে পথ চলার শপথ নেয়।কিন্তু দুঃখের বিষয় হলো যে আজও দেশ স্বাধীনতার ৭২ বছর পরে কিছু অবিবেচক ও প্রশাসনের নীরব প্রশয়ে, ও 'পরিবারের সন্মান' এর মিথ্যা অজুহাত দেখিয়ে শুধুমাত্র ভিন্নধর্মে বিয়ে করার কারণে কিছু তরুন-তরুনীকে প্রাণ দিতে হয়।বিবাহ নামক প্রতিষ্ঠানে তাদের আর জীবনের পথ চলা হয় না।

কিছুদিন আগেই এরকমই এক মর্মান্তিক খবর আমাদের সকলকে ব্যথিত ও একই সঙ্গে অস্থির করে তুলেছিল।ঘটনাটির স্থান ও সময় এই লেখায় নিষ্প্রয়োজন বলে মনে করি।কিন্তু একটা বিষয় আপনাদের সঙ্গে আমি শেয়ার না করে পারছি না ,যে আমরা ঠিক কোথায় চলেছি?দেশ যখন অনেক বিষয়ে উন্নত দেশগুলির সঙ্গে সমান তালে এগিয়ে চলেছে ঠিক এসময়ে এধরনের ঘটনা কি আমাদের মাথা নিচু করে দেয় না? দুটি প্রাপ্তবয়স্ক প্রাণ নিজেদের মতন করে সঙ্গী নির্বাচন কি করতে পারে না?হোক না তারা ভিন্ন ধর্মীয়।মানুষের ধর্ম কী দুটি প্রাণের মিলনকে বাঁধা দিতে পারে?যেখানে দেশের সংবিধানে আমাদের এরূপ কোন বাঁধা নেই।সব ধর্মেই অন্য ধর্মকে শ্রদ্ধা করতে শেখায়,তাহলে কেন এই বিরোধ?হ্যাঁ  এটা দেখা দরকার যে ভিন্নধর্মের বিবাহের কারণে কারওর ধর্মকে যাতে অমর্যাদা না করা হয়।সেটা না করে অহেতুক কোনো প্রাণকে এইভাবে চলে যেতে না হয়,সেটা আমাদের ও প্রশাসনের সকলের দেখা দরকার।
