We all know that our country is self-sufficient in agricultural production today.The condition of farmers are also very good today.Apart from that, with the help of agronomy, our country along with different parts of the world is constantly trying to produce different types of new crops, so that the farmers could lead a better life.Today we will learn about one such crop which, if cultivated properly, will further strengthen the agro-economy of our country.The crop is nicknamed 'Hop Shoots' and the scientific name is 'Humulus Lupulus'.
Although it is not yet cultivated in our country, its commercial aspect is quite attractive. It is probably the most expensive vegetable in the world. The price of one kg of vegetable is about 1 lakh rupees. It is cultivated mainly in Europe and America. It is a perennial plant.In our country, a man named Amaresh Singh from Bihar was the first to start its cultivation.
The vegetable looks a lot like asparagus and the cooking rules are very similar. It is also used in many different ways. The flower of this tree is known as 'hop' which is used to make beer.This flower is used to give fragrance to drinks. It was first cultivated in Germany. Apart from flowers, there are many medicinal properties of its stem.
These hop shoots have antibacterial properties. These shoots are used to make medicines for TB and cancer patients. So it is very expensive. The acid in hop shoots destroys the cancer cells. These trees look a lot like bushes, so their flowers are natural in nature and need to be picked carefully.

আমরা সকলেই জানি যে, আমাদের দেশ আজ কৃষিজ ফসল উৎপাদনে আত্মনির্ভর।কৃষকদের অবস্থাও আজ অনেক ভালো।তা ছাড়া কৃষিবিজ্ঞানের সাহায্যে পৃথিবীর বিভিন্ন প্রান্তের সঙ্গে আমাদের দেশও বিভিন্ন রকমের নতুন ফসল তৈরীতে নিরন্তর প্রয়াস করে চলেছে,যাতে কৃষকদের ভালো হয়।আজ আমরা এরকমই এক ফসলের কথা জানবো যার চাষ ঠিকভাবে করতে পারলে আমাদের দেশের কৃষিঅর্থনীতি আরও শক্তিশালী হবে।ফসলটির পোশাকি নাম 'হপ শুটস' এবং বৈজ্ঞানিক নাম হলো 'হিউমুলাস লুপুলাস'।
যদিও আমাদের দেশে এখনও সেভাবে এর চাষ না হলেও,এর বাণিজ্যিক দিকটি বেশ আকর্ষণীয়।সম্ভবত পৃথিবীর সবচেয়ে মহার্ঘ্য সবজি এটি।এক কেজি সবজির দাম প্রায় ১ লাখ টাকা।মূলত ইউরোপ ও আমেরিকায় এর চাষ দেখা যায়।এটি একটি বহুবর্ষজীবী উদ্ভিদ ।আমাদের দেশে বিহারের অমরেশ সিংহ নামক এক ব্যক্তি সর্বপ্রথম এর চাষ শুরু করেন।
সবজিটি দেখতে অনেকটা আস্পারাগাসের মতন ও রান্নার নিয়মও অনেকটা একরকম।এছাড়াও এর অনেক রকম ব্যবহার হয়ে থাকে।এই গাছের ফুল 'হপ
' নামে পরিচিত যা বিয়ার তৈরিতে লাগে।তাছাড়া পানীয়তে সুগন্ধি দেওয়ার কাজে এই ফুল লাগে।জার্মানিতে সর্বপ্রথম এর চাষ শুরু হয়।ফুল ছাড়াও এর ডাঁটির অংশের অনেক ঔষধি গুন্ আছে।
এই হপ শুটস এর antibacterial গুন্ আছে।টিবি ,ক্যান্সার রুগীদের ওষুধ তৈরীতে এই শুটস লাগে।তাই এর দাম অনেক হয়।হপ শুটসের মধ্যে থাকা অ্যাসিড ক্যান্সার আক্রান্ত কোষগুলোকে নষ্ট করে দেয় । এই গাছগুলি দেখতে অনেকটা ঝোপের মতন ,তাই এর ফুলগুলি প্রকৃতির হয় যা তোলার সময় সাবধানে তুলতে হয়।
