Colours of New Year in India

Today is a day of great joy for our Bengalis. Yes, today is the holy Poila Baishakh or the beginning of the new year for our Bengalis. We all hope that the coming bengali new year 1428 will bring a good start for all of us. Many countries of the world welcome their new year in their own way. Again, our country is rich in the culture of the diverse community, so here are the beginnings of many new years. Let's have a look at the coloufull new year festives.

1)Poila Baishakh :

For Bengalis, this special day starts a little differently. Many people go to the Ganges in the morning to bathe and worship in the temple. Those who are involved in trade and commerce open a new account book on this day. In Bangladesh, this day is celebrated with special enthusiasm and is celebrated as a national holiday.

2) Puthandu :

In southern Tamil Nadu, too, the day before this day, or April 14, marks the beginning of the new year. On this day, they worship at the temple with their families and wear new clothes with the blessings of adults like us.

3) Vishu Kani :

In South Kerala also, the beginning of the new year is celebrated on 14th April. It is very common for them to go to the temple in the morning and worship on this day. Besides, there are people wearing new clothes.

4) Bestu or Nav Waras :

This is the beginning of the new year for the Gujarati community and it is celebrated after Diwali. On this day, they wear colorful clothes and make their house colorful and bright.

5) Gudi Padwa:

In Maharashtra, Konkan and Goa regions, the first day of Chaitra marks the beginning of the new year.A colorful start is made by placing a colored cloth in front of the door in an inverted jar.The house is clean and new clothes are worn.

6) Baishaki :

It is celebrated as the beginning of the new year for the Punjabi community in North India, especially the Punjabi community. April 13 or sometimes the 14th of April is the New Year of the Punjabis. On this day, people wear colorful clothes and dance and sing. The day is religious and historical for them at the same time because the day is associated with the holy Khalsa.

7) Ugadi :

This New Year festival is mainly celebrated in the southern Indian states of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka. The first day of Chaitra marks the beginning of the new year. The house is decorated with mango leaves and various flowers on this day. Moreover, many people donate to temples and hospitals on this day.

8) Bohag Bihu :

The festival is mainly celebrated in the northeastern state of Assam. The day is also a day for them to celebrate the New Year and harvest. Their new year begins after 7 days in month of Baishakh. However, India is famous for the folk songs and dances that they perform at this time.

Among many other such groups, the beginning of the new year is celebrated in their own way. Although the beginning of the year varies, the purpose of celebrating the festival of each community is the same. The main ideology behind all these festivals is to keep our comming future safe and prosperous.

We all hope so. What do you say about this?
