It is thought to be crammed with platinum, gold, iron, copper and many other precious metals. The asteroid came to the attention of the Italian astronomer Anibel de Gasparis in 1852, about 170 years ago. The asteroid is located between Mars and Jupiter, about 370 million kilometers away. NASA will launch the asteroid in mid-2022 and it is expected that it will take more than 3 years or 2026 for the spacecraft to reach there.It is expected to bring some samples from 18-Psyche and test them in labaratory in the same year.

NASA says the asteroid is only 200 kilometers wide but has a current market value of 10,000 quadrillion or 1 trillion dollars inside it.To put it bluntly, if the asteroid were to be broken up and distributed among the world's 700 million people, everyone would be entitled to billions of rupees.

Scientists estimate from a 50-megapixel resolution image taken by Pasadino's Caltech research institute that about 30% of its surface is covered with rare metals such as gold, platinum, nickel, copper and other metals. The value of iron ore may exceed one trillion dollars.However, there has been controversy among scientists over the expedition. In particular, the amount of iron from the asteroid could exceed 1 trillion dollars. As a result, there will be no value of metals like iron, gold, copper etc. in the heart of the world. The economy of the whole world will collapse.

But as one of this planet lover I along with all of us would like to see no bloodshed in the wake of this campaign because the present earth is already plagued by natural and man-made causes.

১৬-সাইকি গ্রহাণু সোনার খনি 

আমাদের এই পৃথিবী যেমন আমাদের সকলের চোখে সবচেয়ে সুন্দর ও ভালোবাসার জায়গা তেমনি এই পৃথিবীর বাইরেও আছে অনেক বিস্ময় ভরা জগৎ যার বেশিরভাগটাই আমরা এখনো জেনে উঠতে পারিনি।তবে অতি সম্প্রতি আমেরিকান মহাকাশ গবেষণা সংস্থা 'নাসার' মাধ্যমে আমরা যেটুকু জানতে পেরেছি তা যদি বাস্তবিকে পরিণত করা সম্ভব হয় তাহলে বোধহয় পৃথিবাসীর সুদিন আসতে খুব একটা দেরী নেই।সেক্ষেত্রে সঠিক পরিকল্পনা গ্রহণ করা গেলে নাসার দাবী অনুযায়ী পৃথিবীর প্রত্যেকে কোটিপতি হতে পারে।কী করে তা সম্ভব নিশ্চই তা জানতে আগ্রহী, তাহলে আজকের আমাদের বিষয় ১৬-সাইকি যা আদতে একটি গ্রহাণুর সম্পর্কে একটু জানতে হবে।   

অনুমান করা হচ্ছে প্ল্যাটিনাম,সোনা ,লোহা,তামা ও আরো অনেক দুর্মূল্য ধাতু দিয়ে ঠাসা।এই গ্রহাণু আজ থেকে প্রায় ১৭০ বছর পূর্বে ১৮৫২ সালে ইতালীয় জ্যোতির্বিজ্ঞানী আনিবেল ডি গ্যাসপারিসের নজরে আসে।সময় যত এগিয়েছে বিজ্ঞানীদের কাছে গ্রহাণুটি ততই  আকর্ষণের কেন্দ্রবিন্দু  হয়ে দাঁড়িয়েছে।পৃথিবী থেকে প্রায় ৩৭ কোটি কিলোমিটার দূরে মঙ্গল ও বৃহস্পতির মাঝে রয়েছে এই গ্রহাণু।২০২২ সালের মাঝে নাসা এই গ্রহাণু অভিযানে নামবে এবং আশা করা যায় যে মহাকাশযানের সেখানে পৌঁছাতে ৩ বছরের বেশী বা ২০২৬ লেগে যাবে।সেই বছরেই ১৬-সাইকি থেকে কিছু নমুনা এনে পরীক্ষা করাই আপাতত লক্ষ্য ।    

নাসা জানিয়েছে গ্রহাণুটি মাত্র ২০০ কিলোমিটার চওড়া কিন্তু তার ভিতরে রয়েছে বর্তমান বাজারমূল্যের ১০ হাজার কোয়াড্রিলিয়ন বা ১০ লক্ষ লক্ষ কোটি ডলার সম্পদ ।পরিষ্কার করে বললে গ্রহাণুটিকে যদি ভেঙে পৃথিবীর ৭৭০ কোটি মানুষের মধ্যে বন্টন করে দিলে প্রত্যেককেই কোটি টাকার অধিকারী হবে।

পাসাডিনোর ক্যালটেক গবেষণা সংস্থা তাদের তোলা ৫০ মেগাপিক্সেল রেসোলিউশনে ছবি থেকে বিজ্ঞানীরা অনুমান করছেন যে এর পৃষ্ঠের প্রায় ৩০% বিরল সোনা,প্ল্যাটিনাম,নিকেল,তামা প্রমুখ ধাতু দিয়ে মোড়া।তবে বিজ্ঞানীদের মধ্যেই এই অভিযানের বিপক্ষে বিতর্কেরও সূচনা হয়েছে।বিশেষ করে তাদের মতে এই গ্রহাণুতে থেকে আনা লোহার পরিমাণ মূল্যই হয়তো ১০ লক্ষ্ কোটি ডলার ছাড়িয়ে যেতে পারে।এর ফলে পৃথিবীর বুকে থাকা লোহা,সোনা ,তামা ইত্যাদি ধাতুর কোনো মূল্য না।গোটা বিশ্বে অর্থনীতির ধস নেমে আসবে।সমস্ত দেশের সরকার,খনন কার্যের সঙ্গে যুক্ত সকলে একেবারে নিঃস্ব হয়ে পড়বে ।    

তবে একজন পৃথিবাসীরূপে আমি বা আমরা সকলে চাইবো যাতে এই অভিযানের সূত্র ধরে কোনোরকম রক্তপাত যাতে না হয় কারণ এমনিতেই বর্তমান পৃথিবী প্রাকৃতিক এবং মানুষের কারণে জর্জরিত।
