We all know that Bengalis are sweet lovers.The fame of Bengali sweets is world wide.Not only in the country, but also many people from abroad who have come to Bengal for various reasons admired for our sweet culture.
1) Rosogolla
Looking at the pictures of soft and sweet white rosogollas,its very hard to control oneself.Very few people have been able to keep themselves away from the sight of such fluffy white round and juicy sweets.
2) Sweet yogurt
Its presence on the last leaf of any occasion brings a different dimension.Although sweet yoghurt is available in both red and white colors, the value of red sweet yoghurt is much popular in bengal.Moreover,sour yoghurt whey is good for the body in summer.
3) Rosmalai
This kind of delicious rasmalai brings a different dimension to any occasion at home. Especially the taste of soft rosgolla in light sweet milk is not to be forgotten.
4)Pranhara
The taste of this sweet is also incomparable. It is an impeccable creation with the help of soft and light sweets.
5)Payesh
It is a very special sweet dish made at home by Bengalis.It happens in the house of Bengalis on happy birthdays.Besides,nowadays payesh is also served in different occasions. Especially if it is made of new molasses then there is no question.

আমরা সকলেই জানি যে বাঙালি মাত্রই মিষ্টিপ্রিয়।বাংলার মিষ্টির খ্যাতি তো জগৎজোড়া।শুধু দেশেই নয়,বিদেশ থেকেও অনেকে যারা বিভিন্ন কারণে বাংলায় এসেছে,তারাও এর সুখ্যাতি না করে পারেনি।আর বেশি কথা না বলে বাংলার সুপ্রসিদ্ধ কিছু মিষ্টির জগৎ দেখে নেওয়া যাক।
১)রসগোল্লা
ছবি দেখে আর নিশ্চয়ই নিজেকে সামলানো যাচ্ছে না।হবেই তো,এরকম তুলতুলে সাদা গোলাকার ও রসালো মিষ্টির দৃষ্টি থেকে নিজেকে দূরে রাখা খুব কম লোকেই পেরেছে।সবচেয়ে বড় কথা হলো যে বাংলার রসগোল্লা এখন GI তকমার অধিকারী।
২)মিষ্টি দই
যেকোনো অনুষ্ঠানের শেষ পাতে এর উপস্থিতি এক আলাদা মাত্রা আনে।যদিও মিষ্টি দই লাল ও সাদা দুটি রঙেই পাওয়া যায়,লাল মিষ্টি দইয়ের কদর অনেক বেশী।তাছাড়া গরমকালে টক দইয়ের ঘোল শরীরের জন্য ভালো।
৩) রসমালাই
এই রকম সুস্বাদু রসমালাই যে কোনো অনুষ্ঠান বাড়ীতেই এক আলাদা মাত্রা নিয়ে আনে।বিশেষ করে হালকা মিষ্টি দুধের মধ্যে নরম রসমালাইয়ের স্বাদ ভোলার নয়।
৪)প্রাণহারা কাঁচাগোল্লা
এই মিষ্টির স্বাদও অতুলনীয়।নরম ও হালকা মিষ্টির সহযোগে এক অনবদ্য সৃষ্টি।সার্থক এর নামকরণ।
৫)পায়েস
এটা বাঙালীর একেবারে ঘরে তৈরী করা মিষ্টিবিশেষ।শুভ জন্মদিনে বাঙালীর ঘরে এটা হয়ে থাকে।এছাড়াও আজকাল বিভিন্ন অনুষ্ঠানেও পায়েস পরিবেশন করা হয়।বিশেষ করে তা যদি নতুন গুড়ের হয়ে থাকে তাহলে তো কথাই নেই।
