জাতিসংঘের প্রকাশিত তথ্য অনুসারে, আগামী ২০৫০ সালের মধ্যে বিশ্বের জনসংখ্যা 9.7 বিলিয়ন বা ৯৭০ কোটি সীমাতে পৌঁছে যাবে। অনুমান করা হচ্ছে যে এই জনসংখ্যার প্রায় ৭০% লোক শহুরে জনসংখ্যা হবে যেখানে অনেকগুলি শহরে প্রায় ১০ মিলিয়ন বা ১০০ কোটি মানুষ বাস করবে। সংখ্যাটি বাড়ার সাথে সাথে, পরিবেশের ভারসাম্য ঠিক রাখা,প্রাকৃতিক শক্তি ও সম্পদের যোগান,যানজট নিরসন ও অপরাধমূলক কাজ রোধ করা ইত্যাদি এক ভয়ঙ্কর চ্যালেঞ্জগুলির মুখোমুখি হতে হবে।তা আগামী দিনের এই সকল সমস্যা থেকে অনেকটাই মুক্ত হতে পারি এক নতুন প্রযুক্তির সাহায্যে।হ্যাঁ,ঠিকই ধরেছেন সেই প্রযুক্তি হলো এআই-সমর্থিত আইওটি, যা অচিরেই জন্ম দেবে এক স্মার্ট সিটি।
তাহলে এই স্মার্ট সিটি আসলে কী?বলা হচ্ছে একটি স্মার্ট সিটি হলো এমন একটি শহর যা নগর পরিষেবাদির (যেমন শক্তি এবং পরিবহনের) গুণমান এবং কার্যকারিতা বাড়ানোর জন্য তথ্য এবং প্রযুক্তি ব্যবহার করে, এর ফলে সম্পদের ব্যবহার হ্রাস করে, অপচয় রোধ করে এবং সামগ্রিক ব্যয় রোধ করে।নিচে এই প্রযুক্তির হাত ধরে কী কী সুবিধা পেতে পারি তার কিছু দিক তুলে ধরা হলো।
১)ট্রাফিক যানজট এড়ানো :এই প্রযুক্তির সাহায্যে ব্যস্ত রাস্তার বিভিন্ন জায়গায় সেন্সর ও ক্লোস্ড সার্কিট টেলিভশন বসিয়ে তা থেকে তথ্য সংগ্রহ ও তার বিশ্লেষণ করে খুব সহজেই যানজট নিয়ন্ত্রণ করা যেতে পারে।
২)স্মার্ট পার্কিং :পার্কিং জোনে সেন্সর প্রয়োগের মধ্যে দিয়ে একজন গাড়ী ব্যবহারকারী খুব সহজেই জেনে নিতে পারবেন যে তার গাড়ী পার্কিং করার জায়গা আছে কিনা?এর ফলে সময় ও পরিবেশ দূষণ দুটোই বাঁচানো যাবে।
৩)স্মার্ট বর্জ্যমুক্তি :বর্জ্য সংগ্রহ এবং এর যথাযথ ব্যবস্থাপনা এবং নিষ্পত্তি হ'ল একটি নাগরিক পরিষেবা। শহুরে জনসংখ্যার এই বৃদ্ধি বর্জ্য ব্যবস্থাপনার জন্য স্মার্ট পদ্ধতি গ্রহণের প্রয়োজন। স্মার্ট পুনর্ব্যবহারযোগ্য এবং বর্জ্য ব্যবস্থাপনার জন্য এআই প্রযুক্তি গ্রহণ করা ও একটি টেকসই বর্জ্য ব্যবস্থাপনা ব্যবস্থা সরবরাহ করতে পারে।
