Covid Free Indian Village

In today's India, the picture around us is very painful. Wherever we look, the picture is the same everywhere in the media, on TV screens or on social media.The premature  death of near and dear ones due to lack of treatment or life-threatening oxygen crisis. The lack of government planning is not only responsible for this, also our free lifestyle after the first wave was equally responsible.But you must be surprise to know that when the whole country was in the second wave of Covid, there was no trace of this Covid epidemic in one of the unknown villages of our country.

Let's not know that story. The village is Chikhala which belongs to Betul district of Madhya Pradesh.

The residents of the village earlier used to make a living by making illegal desi liquor. But now the days have changed, especially for the vigilance of the women of the village. Today, liquor is not sold in this village. In order to keep their village free from this epidemic, they do not allow anyone to enter from outside the village,nor they go outside the village for no cause.

They have hired two young men from the village to bring the daily necessities of the village, they bring all the necessities from house to house. The main entrance of the village is surrounded by a bamboo fence to prevent intrusion. The women of the village guard themselves 24 hours a day with sticks in their hands.When they see someone walking on the street unnecessarily, they do not hesitate to beat them with sticks.

As a result, the village is still free from the scourge of Corona's death and carries a message to us that government efforts or vaccinations alone are not enough, we want everyone to be vigilant and follow certain rules so that we can survive.

আজকের ভারতবর্ষে চারিদিকের ছবিটা বড়ই বেদনাদায়ক।যেখানেই আমাদের দৃষ্টি যায় যেমন সংবাদমাধ্যম,টিভির পর্দায় বা সোশ্যাল মিডিয়ায় সর্বত্রই ছবিটা একই।সেই প্রিয়জনের চিকিৎসার অভাবে বা প্রাণবায়ু অক্সিজেনের নিদারুণ সংকটে অকালে হারিয়ে যাওয়ার চিত্র।এর জন্য যেমন সরকারী পরিকল্পনার অভাব দায়ী ,তার সঙ্গে আছে Covid প্রথম ঢেউয়ের পর আমাদের বেলাগাম জীবনযাপন।তবে আপনারা জানলে  হবেন যে যখন সমগ্র দেশ Covid দ্বিতীয় ঢেউয়ে বেসামাল তখন আমাদের দেশেরই এক অখ্যাত গ্রামে এই Covid মহামারীর কোনও ছোবল লাগেনি ।আরও অবাক হবেন জেনে যে এই কৃতিত্বের অংশীদার হলেন সেই গ্রামের মহিলারা।

আসুন আমরা সেই কাহিনীই একটু জেনে নি।গ্রামটি হলো চিখালার যা মধ্যপ্রদেশের বেতুল জেলার অন্তর্গত।

গ্রামটির অধিবাসীরা একসময় বেআইনি দেশী মদ তৈরী করে জীবিকা করতো।তবে এখন দিন পাল্টেছে,বিশেষ করে গ্রামের মহিলাদের সতর্ক দৃষ্টির জন্যে আজ আর এই গ্রামে মদ বিক্রী হয় না।শুধু তাই নয় ,এই Covid অতিমারী পরিস্থিতিতে তারা নিজেদের গ্রামকে রক্ষা করার গুরু দায়িত্ব নিজেরাই নেয়।নিজেদের গ্রামকে এই  মহামারী থেকে মুক্ত রাখতে তারা গ্রামের বাইরে থেকে যেমন কাউকে প্রবেশ করতে দেয় না,তেমনি নিজেরাও গ্রামের বাইরে বিশেষ যায় না। 

গ্রামের দুজন যুবককে তারা গ্রামের নিত্য প্রয়োজনীয় জিনিসপত্র নিয়ে আসার জন্য নিয়োগ করেছেন ,তারাই প্রয়োজনের সব জিনিসপত্র বাড়ী-বাড়ী দিয়ে আসে।গ্রামের মূল প্রবেশদ্বার বাঁশের বেড়া দিয়ে ঘিরে দেওয়া হয়েছে অনুপ্রবেশ আটকানোর জন্যে । গ্রামের মহিলারা নিজেরা ২৪ ঘন্টা লাঠি হাতে করে পাহারা দিয়ে থাকে।বিনা প্রয়োজনে কাউকে রাস্তায় ঘুরতে দেখলে লাঠি দিয়ে পেটাতেও তারা পিছুপা হয় না।

ফলস্বরূপ গ্রামটি এখনো পর্যন্ত করোনার মরণ ছোবল থেকে মুক্ত এবং আমাদের কাছেও এক বার্তা বহন করে যে শুধু সরকারী প্রয়াস বা টীকাকরণই যথেষ্ট নয় ,তার সঙ্গে চাই সকলের সতর্ক থাকা ও কিছু নিয়ম পালন করা ,তবেই আমরা বাঁচতে পারবো।
